INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS DESIGNER
Atlantis Systems Eduplus is an industry leader in training development, providing learning content for a wide range of clients including international corporations and the military. You are required to analyze, design, and develop training materials for our clients. You will work with a training development team of Instructional Systems Designers, Multimedia Developers, and Subject Matter Experts.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes project requirements
- Conducts task/instructional analyses
- Designs courseware and training materials
- Develops project standards and evaluation plans and tools
- Ensures all courseware and training materials meet instructional and testing strategies, design specifications, and project standards
- Contributes to ongoing innovation and improvement of instructional design
- Liaises with clients
- Provides input into project schedules and deadlines
- Contributes to team meetings
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree with minimum of 3 years experience in Curriculum and Instructional Design/Development, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field
- Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating training courses
- Experience in developing formal documents
- Excellent analytical, writing, and visualization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible, motivated, and able to meet deadlines
- Experience in using LCMS and LMS an asset.
Atlantis Systems Eduplus is an industry leader in training development, providing learning content for a wide range of clients including international corporations and the military. The successful candidate will work as an Internet Application Developer contributing to the creation and maintenance of the LearninglogicsTM application suite, including a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and Learning Management System (LMS). As a member of the programming team you will also have the opportunity to work with various internet technologies and platforms to create, maintain and deliver rich dynamic learning content.
Responsibilities
- Write/edit programming script to enhance functionality and/or appearance of internet applications as necessary using various platforms including: HTML and XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, ColdFusion, ASP, JSP, ActionScript, Flash
- Identity and resolve bugs efficiently
- Assist in identifying, defining and documenting requirements and specification
- Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications and best practices
- Research emerging application development software applications, products, languages and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
- Debugging and testing the developer's own work in a variety of environments
- Assist in quality assurance activities as required
- Interact regularly with managers, clients, vendors, and agencies to field questions
- Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications
- Contribute to development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines
- Participate in functionality/feature design reviews.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Post Secondary Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in application development
- Minimum of 2 year experience in:
- Standard Query Language (SQL)
- ASP, PHP, JSP, ColdFusion or other similar platforms
- Web Development Experience, including extensive: AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, DHTML
- Flash/ActionScript/Flex experience an asset
- An understanding of GUI design best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
- Flexible, motivated, detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
